About the RIDE WITH GPS App PROJECT
Thanks to a grant from the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau and Centre County, CentreBike is happy to offer a number of rides that will help you explore “Happy Valley” and more. Whether you ride a road, mountain, gravel, commuter or touring bike, CentreBike has a ride for you. Many rides start at Beaver Stadium on Penn State’s campus, and you can use the free RideWithGPS (RWGPS) app on your Android or IOS phone for turn-by-turn directions and offline maps.
This is a non-profit project relying on use by the biking community to continue to make it better.
Please be advised
While these routes are mapped by experienced bicyclists to provide you with routing assistance, use of these routes is at your own risk. Some of these routes traverse bike lanes or other facilities designed specifically for bicyclists, but others include or are exclusively on local streets and highways, or are technical, single-track mountain bike trails. CentreBike does not warrant the safety of bicyclists as they access these roads and trails. Every bicyclist is responsible for his or her personal safety and welfare and for remaining alert and mindful of conditions on the roads or trails.
About CentreBike
CentreBike is a 501(c) organization, founded in 2000, to help facilitate the vision of a more cycle-friendly community in the greater State College area. We are a coalition of cyclists working for cyclists, with the goal of promoting bicycling as a means of recreation and transportation.
We are the voice for all bicyclists in the Centre Region. Our interests include bicycling advocacy, rider education, bicycling safety & awareness, riding opportunities for all ages, and encouraging more bicycling in the area.
The common thread is that we love to ride, whether it be on the way to work, on singletrack through the forest, or on rolling back country roads.
